Hi! I’m Maria and I am the Aussie mamma behind Moon Monkey! Since becoming a mum 5 years ago, I discovered a love for kids’ fashion. When I'm not at work designing kids’ toys (yes, that's my day job :-) ), I spend my days creating kids' clothing, that embraces individuality and confidence! 

 

It has always been a dream of mine to create a clothing range, bags and fashion accessories that empowers children to be who they want to be on their fun adventures! Moon Monkey represents all things colourful, bold, quirky and unique. Fashion that is functional, versatile and most importantly FUN to wear! My lil (pocket rocket) son Emilio is indeed the inspiration behind Moon Monkey. He's fun, bubbly, unique and so full of life! He's my lil cheeky monkey.

 

As a Senior Designer with 15+ years’ experience in Textile, Product and Graphic Design, I am always finding ways to improve day to day products. After becoming a mum, I noticed there was a market to improve the simple bucket hat. I discovered that most current children bucket hats needed improving! It was my mission to design, create and offer a better alternative hat that solved the problems parents/carers face. Did I mention, I design all our hats? That combined with a love for colour… BOOM… Moon Monkey was created!! 

I have built a long-lasting relationship and work very closely with our overseas manufacturer, which has 20+ years’ experience, specialising in the export of high quality apparel products for many well known brands. Our process includes design, fabric sourcing and testing, development and manufacturing. Our sun hats are UPF and water resistant tested to the highest level. Our brim width is compliant with Australian Standards. (i.e. 5mm for up to 8yo and 6mm for up to 12yo). We only source the highest quality fabrics and use the best digital fabric printers and technology that can accurately follow the vibrant colours and patterns in our designs. We are also in the process of introducing recycled materials into our future sun hats! Some exciting things ahead! All our hats are responsibly made. Our manufacturer meets all 'Human Rights and Technology Factory Inspection Requirements'. Our sun hats are machine made for durability. We create quality durable clothing with longevity in mind. Clothing ware that will be passed down within families and then shared with others!
